Bull’s fingers flexed, his grip on the back of my neck tightening then releasing. “Quinn,” he growled all low and dirty.
“Glad you still keep the fridge stocked,” Mase said before he appeared at the door, carrying in the pizza Bull had brought the night before, and giving him enough time to drop his hand.
“Of course,” I said grinning. “You want me to heat that?”
“Nah, cold’s fine.”
Bull tipped his head back and finished his beer. When he’d dropped his hand, he’d put it between us, and he slid it closer to me while Mase turned on the TV and started flicking through the stations. Bull brushed his pinkie finger across my thigh. “I need to head back to the bar, got shit to do. But we’ll have that drink tomorrow, yeah?” he said to Mase.
Another brush of his thumb against my thigh before he stood.
I shivered, wanting to follow him, but stayed where I was as Bull and Mase made their plans and he left.
Somehow I needed to put my own wants aside and be there for Mase. He was looking for a distraction from his pain. I understood that all too well.
Guilt hit me for even thinking about myself right then.
But how could I not when Bull had shown up here smelling like heaven, hair still damp from a shower, in those new jeans of his and a T-shirt that clung to every muscled inch of him?
Christ, it was going to be a long few days.
Chapter Eleven
Bull
My bedroom ceiling wasn’t giving me any answers to my dilemma, but then neither had the backs of my eyelids.
My head was all over the place. Parking outside Quinn’s tonight and finding Mase already there had been bad enough. Mase knocking on the door, only to have it answered by Quinn in nothing but a bright pink G-string and bra, had nearly made my head explode.
Jesus, I’d been racked with guilt and hard as a rock since.
It felt wrong keeping this from a guy who’d stuck by me through the worst times of my life, who trusted me with his life, and with his sister. I felt like the lowest piece of shit, even lower since I still couldn’t get that image of Quinn answering her door out of my head.
That fucking smile, slightly shy but with excitement in her eyes. It had been all for me. The sexiest thing I’d ever seen, and that was before I dropped my gaze and caught the rest of her.
My phone started ringing and my balls tightened because I knew who it was, had expected her call since I got home.
If Mase coming home wasn’t a smack upside the head from the universe, I didn’t know what was. But then I didn’t believe in all that shit. I shouldn’t need some higher power to make me choose right from wrong. Fucking around with Quinn was definitely wrong, but goddamn, it felt good.
Which was why, against my better judgment, I snatched up the phone and answered. “Hey.”
Her shaky exhale reached my ears first, and that was all it took for my semihard dick to return to its previous state. Primed and ready to fuck. Two days like this had been the worst kind of torture, especially when Quinn was constantly in front of me. My dick was like a kid in a candy shop, only instead of getting to gorge on all the sweet treats, it was getting smacked down and denied.
Again, if I believed in signs from the universe, I’d be trying to think of ways to back out of this arrangement I had with Quinn. Instead, I held my breath, desperate to hear her voice.
“Hey,” she said.
How could that one word sound so fucking hot coming from her? “Mase okay?”
There was another rustling sound. “He drank until he fell asleep. I couldn’t get him upstairs to his room, so I left him passed out on the couch with a blanket.”
“You think it’s really over with him and Janie?”
Another soft exhale. “I think it might be.”
I was an asshole because that soft sound sent tingles over my scalp and made my dick even harder. “Shit.”
“Yep.” She was silent a beat. “Sorry about our plans being ruined.”
“Mase needed you.”
“I was…really looking forward to tonight,” she said softly.
Shit. “Yeah?”
“Mm-hmm.” Another couple beats of silence. “So, um…did you like what I picked out for you…what I was wearing, I mean?” she said, voice hesitant.
“What the fuck do you think?” Every one of my exhales grew heavier, harsher than the last.
She laughed breathlessly.
“You trying to kill me, sweets?”
Her breath hitched. “I was trying to get you to take me to bed.”
“Baby, you don’t have to try. Just thinking about you gets me hard.”
More rustling sounds. “Have you been…thinking about me?”
“You’re all I can think about.” My voice was so deep and rough I sounded like someone else. “You in bed?”
She made a little sound that told me she was. “You?”
“Yeah.”
“And are you…”
“What, baby?” I choked out, knowing what she was going to say and wanting to hear her say it.
“Hard?”
“Fuck yeah.”
“My bed feels empty without you in it,” she said. “It smells like you, though. I didn’t change the sheets.”
My hand was on my stomach and the muscles tightened under it at her admission. “Wish I was there, too.”
“What would we be doing…if you were here?”
I knew what she wanted, and it might kill me to give it to her, because I wanted more than just her voice on the end of the phone. I wanted her naked and under me, her hands, her mouth on me. But my girl was hot and needy, and if she needed to get off, I’d make sure she did it thinking about me.
I wasn’t much of a talker, but I found it was easy with Quinn, and on the subject of getting her off, I was a fucking expert because I hadn’t thought of anything else for a fuck of a long time. “What I’m desperate to do is bury my cock deep inside you and ride you until neither one of us can breathe, but I wasn’t gonna rush it tonight.”
“N-no?”
“Nah, I decided we’d take things nice and slow. I haven’t been inside you yet, but you’re small, pussy tight as fuck. I’m a big man; I’d need to work you up good first, lick your pretty pussy until you scream. You know I love the way you taste, could go down on you every day and not get enough. I’d settle in, bury my tongue deep, lick and suck you, make you come over and over, get you nice and wet before I work my cock inside you.”
She whimpered.
“You got your hand in that G-string, sweets?”
“Yes,” she whispered.
I was already naked, and dragged my hand down my stomach and fisted my dick. “How wet are you?”
“Oh God, Logan, so wet.”
“You still have the bra on?”
“Yes.”
I gripped the thick base and gave it a little twist before gliding up and back. I knew I shouldn’t ask what I was about to, but I couldn’t shut myself up. “Show me.”
“You want a picture?”
“The next few days are gonna be torture, Quinn. I need something, baby. You gonna give that to me?”
She was breathing faster. “Hang on.”
Anticipation shot through me as I waited. My phone beeped.
“I sent it. Did you get it?”
I put her on speaker and opened my messages, tapping the pic to make it bigger, and almost blew my load. This wasn’t just a picture of Quinn’s tits or her pussy. She’d held the camera above her so I got a full body shot. She lay on her bed, her free hand down the front of her G-string, breasts straining against the cups of her bra, hair splayed out on her pillow, and she was biting her lip.
“Fuck, Quinn, you look so sexy.”
“You think so?” she whispered.
I grunted and kicked off the sheet. “You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
“It turned you on?”
“I’m fucking my fist right now, and all
I can think about is tearing your panties off and sliding into that tight pussy.”
“Oh,” she said, that breathlessness back. “I’ve…I slid my finger inside and I’m imagining the same thing.”
“You’re gonna need more than one finger for that.”
She whimpered again. “Okay.”
“You close?” I gritted out.
“Yes.”
Thank fuck, because I was more than ready. “So hot, Quinn. So fucking hot. How many fingers do you have inside you now?”
“Two…ahhhh…”
“Can you fit in a third, sweets? Can you do that?”
“I’m not s-sure…oh God.”
Fucking hell. “I’m fucking you, baby, nice and deep. Am I nice and deep?”
“So deep.”
My fist was pumping hard and fast, precome easing the way. My balls were drawn up tight. Quinn’s whimpers grew more urgent, her breath shaky, and I imagined the way her tits would jiggle with every breath.
“Oh God, Bull…”
“Logan,” I growled. “When you come, you call me Logan.” I had no idea where that came from, but it felt important right then.
“I’m going to…I’m…Looogann.”
Jesus. I grunted, my hips bucking at the sound of my name on her lips as she came. I fucked into my fist almost brutally, then I was coming, coating my belly in my hot sticky release, a release that didn’t want to end.
“Fucking hell,” I said when my cock finally stopped pulsing. “You still there, sweets?”
“Yes,” she said, sounding sated and sleepy and sexy.
God, I wanted to be there with her. “Feel better?”
“Mmm. I’m sleepy. You?”
No, not at all. I wanted to hold her, wanted to wake in the night and fuck her when the feel of her naked body pressed against mine got too much and I just couldn’t stop myself from spreading her thighs and sinking back inside her. “Yeah,” I said instead. “You want me to go so you can sleep?”
“No, I…I…” A beat of silence. “Will you stay on the line with me until I drift off?”
Something behind my ribs clenched. Christ, Quinn was tough, self-sufficient, confident, but then this vulnerability would surface and, man, did it call to me. It brought out the protective side of my nature and then some. I wanted to hold her so bad I shook from it. If she needed me to help her sleep, I wanted to be there to wrap her in my arms the whole night.
What was she doing to me?
“Yeah, sweets, I’ll be right here.”
“Night, Logan,” she said softly.
Another gut clench. “Night,” I rasped.
I lay there and listened to Quinn breathe down the line. As it grew deeper and slower, as she drifted off to sleep.
Then I just kept on listening.
I didn’t disconnect the call until it was nearly morning.

Quinn
“I’d love to do this again,” Cassy said as we walked out of Lake’s End Café and into the late afternoon mist. The front half of the cute little cottage had been converted by the owner, Addie, into a café. She lived in the back.
It was only a couple of blocks from The Mule, so we’d agreed to meet for coffee before my shift. “What about a movie? Or a movie night or something? Wine, good food, a pile of rom-coms?”
“I’d love that. Cal can barely sit through one movie, let alone several, and a romantic comedy? Forget it. He only likes movies about ‘real’ things.” She sighed. “I love the man, but I’m feeling cinematically deprived.”
“Well, I’m here to give you your fix.”
She laughed. “Thank God for that. Now, tell me you’ll definitely be at our party next week?”
“Of course.” Cassy was throwing a party at the ranch to celebrate her birthday. I was already looking forward to it.
We stopped outside Rocktown Ink.
The wind had picked up, and I ducked my head and wrapped my arms around myself. “Right, I better get to the bar.”
Cassy smiled. “Talk later?”
“Sure thing.” I waved as Cassy went to visit with Cal at work, and I headed across the street.
The bar was warm and toasty when I walked in, and busy. I was rostered off tonight, but since it was Bull’s night off and he was spending it with Mase, I’d called Graham who was in charge of the bar when Bull was off and told him I could do a few hours to help out with the after-work crowd.
Graham was behind the bar, and I waved to him and Dot, whose shift had started a few hours ago, then pointed out the back. She nodded, and I went to the break room, dumping my scarf and coat.
Pulling out my phone, I quickly checked it, making sure I hadn’t missed a call or text from Cassy or my dad. Nothing. I clicked open Facebook, since there were several notifications waiting.
And the first image I saw in my feed was one of Bevan and Tonya, the woman he’d cheated on me with. I stared down at it. I don’t know why it was a shock, but it was. I knew they’d had sex, but I didn’t know about this. That they were now in a relationship.
It was a selfie they’d taken in front of a restaurant, one Bevan and I had gone to a lot, just down from my apartment, their mouths kind of pressed together, eyes to the camera. Above it, he’d written, “My angel. Best thing to ever happen to me.”
I sucked in a sharp breath.
It shouldn’t hurt, but it did. I didn’t want Bevan anymore. I didn’t love him. I didn’t. But that self-deprecating voice in my head was whispering, what was wrong with you? Why weren’t you enough?
I hadn’t seen a post from him in all these months, he must have been avoiding social media. Now he was back and spreading his good news.
I clicked to his profile, unfriended him, something I’d forgotten to do, and shoved my phone in my back pocket.
Then grabbed my apron, and headed back out, and tried to lock it all away. To not let the awful feeling in my belly, the racing of my heart, get to me.
I was on my way to my section when I spotted Mase at a table across the room. Bull was with him, like I knew he would be, his back to me, along with several of his biker friends.
I glanced out the window, and sure enough, there were about five bikes lined up. I hadn’t even noticed them when I’d walked across the street, probably because I’d had my head down avoiding the bitter wind.
There were also a lot of women at the table, laughing and drinking with them. I desperately wanted to go over there, but Dice thought I was Bull’s girlfriend and if he said something in front of Mase, everything would go to hell.
So I forced myself to get on with my work, the rhythm of taking orders and delivering drinks. I did my best to ignore the way several of the girls with them were dancing on the table, and that Bull did nothing about it, and I tried really hard to ignore when one of them touched Bull’s arm and said something to him.
One eventually climbed onto Mase’s lap and he seemed happy to have her there. As the night wore on, they got rowdier. Bull didn’t seem himself. How I could tell looking at his back, I didn’t know, but I could.
Dane said he drank too much when Dice was in town, but I’d never seen it, and last time he was here I’d made him promise not to. Was he drunk now? It was hard to tell from over here. Mase definitely was.
I was kept busy in my section, and with the bar full I could barely see them, only getting a glimpse here and there.
I’d just delivered some drinks and was heading back to the bar when a group of guys moved to a vacant table and I got a glimpse of them. Mase was on his own now, his new friend no longer in his lap, and he looked like he’d had more than enough to drink.
Bull, who still had his back to me, appeared to be watching a curvy, extremely beautiful brunette walk toward him.
She kept coming and she didn’t stop, not until she climbed on Bull like she belonged there.
Like she had a right to be there.
And she probably did.
Lynette Castle was the same age as Bull
and Mase. She and Bull had a thing in high school, everyone knew it. I also knew they occasionally screwed. I saw her come out of his office once all mussed and flushed when I first came back.
He obviously couldn’t stay away from her.
The crowd closed in again, and I lost sight of them, but I’d seen enough. It took everything I had not to run out of there. I’d told him the way it had to be, that it had to be only me while we were together.
Apparently, it only took a couple of days for me to drive a man into another woman’s arms now.
Maybe I should call Guinness and see if that was some kind of record?
I only had a few minutes left of my shift, so I kept my head down, refusing to glance over to that table again, and got ready to get the hell out of there.
I walked through the bar, about to go out the back, when someone grabbed my arm.
I spun around. Dot was taking me in, looking concerned. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I just, I need to get out of here.” I patted her hand and pulled free, panic riding me.
Bull was suddenly there pushing through the crowd. He towered over me, brow furrowed. “Quinn?”
That’s when I saw Lynette behind him, right behind him. Was he taking her somewhere private? His office? My gaze darted to her and back to him. “I need to go.”
“Hang on a fucking minute,” he said, grabbing my hand.
“What?” I bit out, my heart banging so hard I felt faint.
“Are you okay?” he said, gaze raking over me, frown deepening.
“Yes,” I clipped.
“I thought you were off tonight?”
“Obviously. Now let me the hell go. I’m leaving,” I said, tone flat, and pulled my hand from his.
His chin jerked back. “What’s with the attitude?”
“It was fun while it lasted, I guess.” I shrugged. “You and Lynette have a good night.”
He frowned again. “What the fuck—”
“Don’t worry, I guarantee I’ll have no trouble finding my own entertainment for the evening.”
With that parting shot that probably had no impact at all, I squeezed through a gap in the crowd and ran out the back door to my car, leaving my bag and jacket behind in my desperation to get away. Thank God my keys and phone were in my pocket.
